Same logo. Different mailbox.
Same company, two emails: the bill and the ad
A phone, internet, or TV provider can send the invoice you need and a channel add-on in the same week. Sorting by company name puts both in Bills. That is the wrong grain.
How it shows up
| From (pattern) | Subject | Where it belongs |
|---|---|---|
| billing@ or notifications@ the provider | Your bill is ready | Bills |
the same brand on an e. or offers. mailbox | New add-on now included | Newsletters or Trash |
Same service provider. Only one is money due. Marketing often lives on a different address than billing. If your cleaner treats the whole domain as one pile, the ad lands on top of the bill.
What to look at
- Exact From address — not the logo, not the parent domain.
- This message — “bill is ready” / amount due vs “add-on” / “% off” / trial.
- If one
noreply@sends both kinds, the address is mixed. Read every mail. Do not inherit last week’s folder.
E-Mail Janitor Pro is built for that split: company label so you can read the list, address + body so the folder is true. Review the plan. Then it moves. Nothing files until you confirm.
Works the same for any shop
Membership renewal vs deals newsletter. App-store receipt vs store ad. Hydro e-bill vs hydro newsletter. Banks. Insurers. Your list grows with your senders. There is no global “these brands exist” gate.
