Use an app password, not your normal password
Use an app password, not the normal sign-in password. E-Mail Janitor connects to supported IMAP inboxes using the provider-generated app password you create for the application.
We never need the app password in support mail. Do not email it, paste it into feedback, or include it in screenshots.
Gmail — 2-Step Verification → App passwords
Turn on 2-Step Verification for the Google Account, then create an App password and enter that generated password in E-Mail Janitor.
Yahoo — Account Security → Generate app password
Open Yahoo Account Security, create an app password for the mail application, then use the generated password in E-Mail Janitor.
Outlook / Hotmail — Security → App passwords
With two-step verification enabled for the Microsoft account, open the account’s security options, create an app password, and use it in E-Mail Janitor.
Account limitations
Corporate Exchange and some school/work accounts that block IMAP are not supported.
