1. Who these Terms are with
These Terms of Use and Software Licence (“Terms”) are between you and AI Prototype Labs, an Ontario, Canada business, for your use of E-Mail Janitor. Questions about these Terms: support@emailjanitor.com
2. E-Mail Janitor is licensed software
E-Mail Janitor is a Windows desktop application. Subject to these Terms and any purchase terms shown at checkout, AI Prototype Labs grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the software for email accounts you are authorized to access.
You receive a licence to use the software; you do not acquire ownership of the software, source code, branding, licence system, or other intellectual property.
3. It is not a hosted inbox
E-Mail Janitor connects from your Windows PC to the email provider you configure. AI Prototype Labs does not provide a hosted E-Mail Janitor mailbox and does not replace Gmail, Yahoo, Microsoft, or another provider as the system that stores your mailbox.
4. Your account and credentials
You may use E-Mail Janitor only with mailboxes you own or are otherwise authorized to manage. You are responsible for keeping your Windows account, app password, registration key, and provider account secure.
5. Registration keys: no sharing or resale
A Pro registration key is for the licensed customer and permitted installation(s) under the purchase terms. You may not publish, share, sell, resell, rent, sublicense, transfer, leak, or distribute a registration key or provide it as part of another product or service unless AI Prototype Labs gives written permission.
A Pro license may be activated on up to three devices belonging to the licensed customer. Extra activations require deactivating an existing one. Sharing or publishing the key is a breach and the license may be revoked.
Each Pro license is individually numbered. Returned or revoked licenses are recorded and cannot be reused. The licence number remains part of the issuance record and is not reassigned to a different sale.
We do not keep a recoverable copy of your Pro key. If you lose it, contact support from the purchase email. One complimentary replacement may be issued for that order. The replacement inherits remaining activations. The old key is revoked. No replacement after refund, chargeback, or key sharing.
AI Prototype Labs may revoke or disable a Pro licence when the purchase has been refunded or charged back, when a key has been leaked, shared, resold, or distributed contrary to these Terms, when licence controls have been bypassed or tampered with, or when there is another material breach of these Terms.
6. No reverse engineering or licence bypass
Except to the extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction, you may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, defeat, circumvent, alter, or bypass E-Mail Janitor’s licence, activation, device-binding, security, or integrity controls. You may not use the software to develop or distribute a competing copy derived from protected E-Mail Janitor code or assets.
7. Review the filing plan
E-Mail Janitor uses rules and classification logic to propose destinations. A proposed filing destination can be wrong. You are responsible for reviewing destinations and exclusions before confirming a plan, and for deciding whether a saved “From now on” sender rule is appropriate.
When a feature acts on a previously authorized sender rule, you remain responsible for reviewing those rules and the resulting mailbox state. Server-confirmed movement means a move succeeded; it does not guarantee that the filing choice was perfect.
8. E-Mail Janitor is not a backup
E-Mail Janitor is an organizer, not a backup, archive, disaster-recovery, or records-retention service. Maintain provider recovery options and any backups appropriate for your mailbox before large cleanups or organization runs. Do not rely on E-Mail Janitor as the only copy of important email.
9. Third-party services
E-Mail Janitor depends on Windows and on the email provider you choose. Provider authentication, IMAP behavior, availability, folders, policies, or APIs may change outside AI Prototype Labs’ control.
E-Mail Janitor and AI Prototype Labs are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google, Yahoo, or Microsoft. Their names and services belong to their respective owners.
10. Updates and major versions
A valid Pro purchase includes E-Mail Janitor 1.x updates made generally available for that licence. A future major release such as 2.0 may be a paid upgrade. Purchasing 1.x does not promise free access to every future major version or indefinite support.
11. Price, taxes, refunds, and payment reversals
Basic is free. The standard Pro price shown on the website is $39.00 CAD, buy once, with tax extra where required. Refunds and payment processing are subject to the checkout terms and applicable law. A refunded or successfully charged-back Pro purchase no longer carries a paid licence entitlement.
12. Software risk and limits
Software can contain defects, and email providers can behave unexpectedly. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, E-Mail Janitor is provided without a promise that classification will always be correct or that third-party email services will always be available. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
13. Ending the licence
You may stop using E-Mail Janitor and uninstall it at any time. AI Prototype Labs may terminate or revoke a licence for the reasons described in these Terms. Termination does not give AI Prototype Labs ownership of your mailbox and does not authorize AI Prototype Labs to delete server-side mail.
14. Ontario law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to any mandatory consumer rights or venue rules that apply to you, disputes relating to these Terms or E-Mail Janitor will be handled in Ontario.
15. Changes to these Terms
AI Prototype Labs may update these Terms for future versions, legal requirements, security changes, or material product changes. The version presented with your purchase or use will identify its effective date.
